Description: An iX version of the classic picture scrambler that requires the user to move tiles around to properly align the picture to its original layout.
Playing the Game:
When the game first starts, the desktop image is used and scrambled. The user can solve this puzzle or choose their own picture to scramble by using File--Pick Image.
Once the picture is scrambled, the user can move tiles by clicking on a tile that has a side touching the side of the blank square. This will make the selected tile switch places with the blank tile.
If having difficulty solving the puzzle, select Play--Hint to see a window showing how the original picture appeared.
If unable to solve the puzzle, the user can select Play--AutoSolve to allow the program to solve the puzzle.
To play again after using AutoSolve or solving the puzzle themselves, the user can select Play--Scramble to scramble the picture.

Description: Just a simple program that allows you to connect to a FTP address to view folders/files, copy FTP files to a local directory, or send files from a local directory to a selected FTP directory. Note: The FTP address, username, and password are just generic to allow you to connect to the microsoft ftp site. You will not be able to actually send a file to this address. You will need an ftp address that you have the correct permissions to be able to do the SEND command.
To Connect:
1) Enter your FTP Address, Username, and password.
2) Click 'CONNECT'
To Change Directories:
1) Double-click on any folder shown in the FTP Folder/Files List or double-click on the 'Backup to Previous Folder--' to change to the previous Directory.
Note: Folders are denoted by having (0 bytes). Files are denoted by having greater than (0 bytes).
To Get a File:
1) Click 'Browse' to select the local directory you wish to save the FTP file.
2) Click on the file in the FTP Folders/Files List.
3) Click 'GET FILE' to save the selected FTP file to your selected Local Directory.
To Send a File:
1) Click on the FTP folders until you are in the directory you wish to save the local file.
2) Click 'SEND FILE' to select the local file from your local directories. Once you have selected a local file, the program will send the file to the current FTP directory.
Also keep in mind to make sure any router/firewall between you and the ftp address needs to allow FTP.

Description: The concept was to create a simple 2D game without the need for any additional files or plugins. This game is created from all controls and commands included in the free version of iX3.
To Play: Move mouse to move the defender back and forth across the screen. Click the left-mouse button to fire at the iX-Invaders.
If the iX-Invaders touch the defender or the ground, the game is over.
Note: Since iX3 isn't really intended for animation/gaming purposes, there will be the occasional glitch (i.e. the invaders leave the screen, not all invaders destroyed before going to next level, or the invaders stop moving).

Description: PicReview was created to review a folder of pictures, and copy
pictures you have selected, into folders designated Keep and
Print.
The end result will will be three groups of pictures.
1. The original untouched pictures.
2. Pictures selected to keep and
3. Pictures selected to print.
The original pictures are not moved or changed in any way.
The need for PicReview came about after a month long road trip
that resulted in 2400 digital pictures, some of which we wanted
to print, and others that we would keep, and others that just
weren't worth looking at. My wife wanted to select certain
pictures for her scrap book but just didn't have the experience
to manipulate the process of the more complicated software
packages.
There are many programs available that can achieve this goal
but none are this simple.
==================================================
To Use PicReview:
1. Choose a directory that contains the pictures you wish to
review by clicking on the menu Options and then click Choose
Picture Folder. Navigate to the folder with your pictures and
click OK.
A list of jpeg pictures are presented in a list. The chosen path
is stored in a configuration file and the program reads this info
when launched so that it opens to the last used directory.
2. As the user clicks on a picture it is displayed, aspect ratio
is maintained by reading the pictures original dimensions and
then sizing the picture box to that ratio, keeping the size to
what will still fit in the form. The name of the last picture
that is viewed is also saved to a configuration file so when the
program is launched it opens to that same picture.
3. If the form is resized the picture and list boxes are resized
as well.
3. Check boxes are available to choose keep and/or print
options for the currently viewed picture. These options are
written into a configuration file.
4. The list can be processed at any time by clicking the menu
Process Pictures and then Process Now. The program then loops
through the pictures, ones that have the keep option set are
copied into a new folder named keep that is created under the
selected pictures directory. The same process is done for
pictures with the print option set. The options for each
picture is saved in a configuration file and each time the
pictures are processed the keep and print directories are
cleared and the files are copied according to the options
selected.
5. The original pictures are not touched or altered in any way.

Description: This is anew and improved version of the script I posted in the forums. JustAscWindows displays an ASCII chart with most, if not all of the normal ASCII Characters you might need and all of the printable Extended Windows ASCII characters. You simply click on a button and the number for that ASCII character is copied to the clipboard. If you hover your mouse over a button the Tool tip will give you the ASCII number of that character as well. As an Ampersand will not print in iX I have included a GIF file of that key. As the Asterisk display differently on some machines there is a GIF of that character for the button label, and finally as the Paragraph character doesn't appear correctly on some machines I have used a GIF of that character as well.

You can dress it up a little and make it act like a link on a web page with a little work. I would have simply posted this to the boards as a code snippet but I wanted to include the cursor file for the little hand shaped cursor.

Description: Example of the RTF Plugin and how it can be used to create documents with different styled colored fonts, pictures, and celled databoxes.
To change fonts:
Select and highlight the text you want to change. Select Font from the Format option or the Font button and choose the font you wish to use.
To change fontsize:
Select and highlight the text you want to change. Select Fontsize from Fontsize droplist.
To add a celled databox:
Select either Single Cell or Double cell from the Insert pulldown menu.
Note: If you are going to put a picture and a celled databox into the RTF document, put the celled databox into the document FIRST! Due to the size of the RTF coding used for most pictures, placing a celled databox after a picture is already located inside the RTF document causes problems.

Description: CalPop is a pop-up calendar that can be used as a stand alone calendar to check dates between 1/12000 and 12/31/2100 or as a program that can be called from another program in any language to pop-up a calendar and retrieve a date. When you call it with a command line argument that consists of a year and month separated by a semi-colon it writes it's results to a temp file that you can then read. Feel free to use the program or the code but please give the author credit. I will caution you on making any changes to the inner workings of the application unless you really understand what is going on. The code is well commented and an excellent example of how to use multiple controls on a single window. Thanks to James Pearson and Michael Presley for their suggestions of additional features, I think I got them all.
I have also included a demo program that shows how to pass and retrieve information from CalPop. You must compile CalPop and have the exe in your iX3 folder to use the demo.

Description: When iX3 was released to the final group of Beta Testers (I was one) I decided to write a script that would give me as much information as I could get from an individual PC. I wanted to make sure it worked on any version of Windows that existed at that time from Windows 95 to Windows XP 64 bit version. This was written before Vista was released. This is that script.
I attempted to upload it to the forum as a forum message a few years ago and it was too large for the page to handle. It was eventually deleted. Recently another forum member posted a message that used most of the code in this application. As his message was too large for the board I figured I would upload the script so everyone could see how it all worked. Please feel free to use any or all of the pieces but please don’t hold the code out as your work. Give credit where it is due.

WebpageDownloader will download and save a web page as a text file. If you rename this exe file the text file will be saved to the same name as the exe file with a txt file extension. It will be saved to the folder that this exe file is running from.
The correct syntax is:
WebpageDownloader.exe www.yourpagename.com
Do not enter the http://
WebpageDownloader.exe is freeware.

Description: Relaunch file monitor utility:
Relaunch is born from the need to make sure that certain programs will
continue to run even if the computer user accidentally closes the
program.
Relaunch sits in the task tray and monitors the system for the existance
of a window that has a title that matches the window title defined in
the configuration. When you first run Relaunch a configuration window
will present itself, allowing you to define the text in the application
title bar to watch for, to choose the program to run if no window with
the title bar text is found, optional parameters to pass to the program,
and how often to check for the window title.
When Relaunch is running you can right click on the Relaunch icon and
choose to pause the monitoring, configure the program, or to exit the
program.

Description: There are times when you’d like to give a user options on a key press, such as Press H for Help or P to Print. This little utility will tell you the Key Code for a key pressed (Alt, Ctrl, and Shift won’t register a number). It’s also an example of how to read the variable.

Description: InstantEXE Runtime Installer from the original iX2 Disk
This EXE will install the needed OCX and VB Runtime files for iX2 and iX3 to run. You should only need this on a PC that has a version of Internet Explorer that is less than 6.0.
If you run into a PC that gives you an error about a missing OSX or VB Runtime then run this file. If
the machine doesn’t have the issue then you don’t need it. This is particularly handy if you support
any legacy PC's running earlier versions of Windows. Requires Windows 95 and up. In EXE form not ZIP.

Description: This is a nifty little search utility that has some nice features and a lame name. You can enter in wildcards, file extensions, whatever. If you see a file that can be displayed (JPG, BMP, PDF, etc.) clicking on that line will run the file. Do you want to know how may JPG files are on a PC? This will tell you that under options. Some processes take a lot of time but there should be an indicator that they are working. I even use two different sized icons to show that can be done. Simply clicking Search with no criteria will list every file on your C: drive. This is an example of using almost every trick in the book to get iX to do things like show a faux status bar, run invisible batch files, stop processes, run VBS scripts on the fly, whatever. As always this script is posted as an example of how to do things not as something you should change the name of and claim as your own.
